Lena Bennett, Zone 1
First elected to the Zone 1 position in 1992, Lena Bennett brings a range of
expertise and unique experiences to the Board. A tireless community worker,
Bennett was instrumental in achieving positive outcomes for civil rights issues
in Tulsa while maintaining a professional career in social services. Lena was
the 2001 Recipient of The David Berstein Distinquished Leadership Award which
is the Community Service Council's highest award and recognizes many years of
significant, visionary leadership and service in one or multiple areas of
community involvement. With continuing full-time employment and active
involvement in civic and community affairs, Bennett's "leisure time" is spent
looking in on special friends, and with family.

Betty Boyd, Zone 2
Appointed in 2002 to fill the remainder of the Zone 2 term, Betty Boyd brings to the table a range
of experiences, a record of dedicated service and award winning accomplishments, and a passion for
causes in areas such as health, education, and senior services. A lifelong Tulsan, Betty not only
senses the heartbeat of the community, but also is committed to making it better. Her careers as a
television personality and broadcaster, manager of public relations, and member of the Oklahoma
House of Representatives have positioned her as one who understands and knows how to impact the
issues in the Tulsa community. A proponent of early childhood education and particularly the
mastery of reading skills, Betty was instrumental in enacting nationally recognized legislation
focusing on reading skills in the early elementary grades. Her interests are many, varied and
always aligned with making Tulsa and Oklahoma a good place to live and learn. Betty said, “I have
always wanted to serve on a Board of Education,” when asked about her motivation for applying for
the Zone 2 position. Given her vision, first-hand knowledge of the career tech system and its
hands-on approach to learning, Betty will add board service as another distinguished accomplishment.
In 2000, Boyd received the Distinguished Service Award by the Oklahoma Association for Career and
Technology Education for her commitment to career and technology education.

Tim Bradley, Zone 3
Tim Bradley was elected to the Zone 3 seat on the Tulsa Tech Board of Education on April 1, 2008. He brings to the Board the experience of being a teacher at Tulsa Tech for 25 years, a parent of a student who attended Tulsa Tech, and as the President of the Tulsa Tech's Teachers' Association. Bradley holds a Master of Science degree in Trade and Industrial Education and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University. He has also completed several hours in Construction Management. Bradley taught the plumbing trade for 26 years, serving 1 year at Tri-County Tech in Bartlesville, prior to being hired at Tulsa Tech by Dr. Joe Lemley to teach the same program. Tim holds both a Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors License and a Plumbing Inspectors License. Bradley retired from Tulsa Tech in June of 2007. He is currently employed with the City of Tulsa as a Plumbing Inspector. Bradley has been actively involved in the Plumbing Contractors Association of North Eastern Oklahoma, and has served on the City of Tulsa Board of Plumbing Appeals. Mr. Bradley is a student advocate, who believes in the importance of vocational education.

Robert Price, Zone 4
Elected to the Zone 4 position in February 2006, Robert Price brings a wide range of experience to the Board. In 1991, Price formed an oil and gas exploration company which explored for gas reserves throughout the Mid-Continent and Rocky Mountain regions. In addition, he owns other companies including a natural compressor company which rents, manufactures and sells natural gas compressors throughout the Midwest . Price also owns a real estate holding company, which owns and operates commercial real estate. Price currently serves on the Advisory Boards of the Tulsa Mental Health Association and Family & Children's Services. Price is the Vice Chairman of the Community Hospital Authority and is also a member of the State of Oklahoma Bar Association . Price has served as a member of the U.S. Department of Interior's Mineral Management Service Royalty Policy Committee and the Oklahoma Centennial Commission. Robert Price received his Juris Doctor University of Tulsa, College of Law in 1989.
Harold Charney, Zone 5
The only Board member who has served continuously since the District was established, Owasso attorney Harold Charney, Zone 5 representative, was elected the first President of the Board in 1973. He was instrumental in charting a course for the District. Charney negotiated the purchase of the Memorial Campus (now Dr. Joe W. Lemley Campus) from the Tulsa Public Schools and four years later negotiated the purchase of a vacant Belscot building for a second site - Peoria Campus. Having served in all executive positions on the Board several times, Charney has been an eloquent spokesman on behalf of career tech while maintaining a passion for the humanities and the education of "the total man." Charney was named to the 2001 Oklahoma State School Boards Association All-State School Board and as recipient of the Buddy Spencer Leadership Award.
Paul Kroutter, Jr., Zone 6
Appointed in 2004 to fill the remainder of the Zone 6 position's term, Paul Kroutter Jr. brings a unique perspective to the Board. He is currently serving as Administrative Captain responsible for internal investigations, planning and research for the Broken Arrow Police Department and is a former Tulsa Tech student, attending aeromechanics classes in the early 1970's. A long-time resident of Broken Arrow, Kroutter teaches law enforcement classes at Rogers State University in Claremore. In 2003 he served an internship with Tulsa Tech's Board of Education while participating in Leadership Broken Arrow. He is also working toward a doctoral degree in Occupational Education at OSU-Tulsa.
Dr. Jim Baker, Zone 7
Dr. Jim Baker manages a dual role in education both as a long-time and successful marketing education coordinator/instructor for Jenks Public Schools and as the Zone 7 member of the Tulsa Tech Board since 1988. Baker's background in education serves him well as a board member by providing the perspective of a practitioner in formulating policy-making decisions. Not only has Baker served in all executive positions on the Board, but also led an effort to define and address safety issues long before school violence became a national concern. Baker was named to the 2000 Oklahoma State School Boards Association All-State School Board, a select group of five board members from the more than 3,500 across the state.
