Most classes do not provide textbooks. Students may purchase textbooks and supplies at bookstores located on each campus.

For students whose start date is prior to July 1, 2009:

For High School students:

  1. Be classified as a high school junior or senior at the time classes begin and be currently enrolled in a high school served by Tulsa Tech District No. 18. Procedures for admission of home-schooled students may be obtained from the Director of Student Services.
  2. Complete a Secondary Admission Application and return it to a high school counselor or Tulsa Tech representative. Application forms are available at each of the Tulsa Tech sites and local high schools.
  3. Participate in a personal interview with a Tulsa Tech representative to determine applicant's ability to benefit from training. Items considered are as follows:
  • Student's stated occupational interest
  • Information obtained from the application and personal interview
  • Selected Classes GPA and academic test scores

Each high school applicant will be notified by mail of his/her admission status by the appropriate campus director.

Adults seeking admission to Tulsa Tech must complete the following steps:

1. Submit a completed Tulsa Tech application form. Application forms for adult applicants are included in the application packet that can be obtained in the counseling offices at any Tulsa Tech campus or the Career Services Center located on the Lemley Campus. Applications are good for two years from the date of receipt by Tulsa Tech.

2. Pay a non-refundable $15 application fee.

3. Provide a driver's license or other photo identification.

4. Supply one of the following to verify academic preparation:

  • Official high school diploma or transcript
  • Original GED certification or score report

(If unable to provide one of the above documents, contact a Guidance and Assessment counselor at 828-5151.)

5. Meet the admission testing requirements.

For students whose start date is after July 1, 2009:

  1. Complete application for admission to Tulsa Tech.

      2.    Selection is based upon Career Interest and Academic Preparedness.

  • Career Interest is determined by one of the following:

PLAN test results - The PLAN test is given during the sophomore year in high school.  Please include a copy of these results with the application; OR

Career interest inventory results - Inventory is available online at www.tulsatech.edu or at the Career Services Center.  Please include a copy of these results with the application, AND

Program visit - Available on Thursdays at 3:00pm, November through May.  Please call 918.828.5250 for an appointment.  Program visit points can also be earned by attending a Tech Fair scheduled for January 26, 2009 & February 12, 2009 from 3:30-6:30pm.

70 points are possible for Career Interest.  A minimum of 40 points is required in this category for admission.

  • Academic Preparedness is determined by math and reading scores from one of the following:

Standardized test scores from the partner high school.  Scores should appear on the high school transcript.  Please include a copy of these scores with the application, OR

Results from assessment test administered at the Career Services Center.  Testing is available M-F from 8:30am - 1:30pm and Thursday evenings until 6:00pm.  Please call 918.828.5290 for specific information.  If you will be requesting test accommodations you must provide official documentation of your disability to the Assessment staff.  Please call 918.828.5290 prior to your arrival.

30 points are possible for Academic Preparedness.  A minimum of 10 points is required in this category for admission.

      3.     Adult applicants will submit $15 application fee with application.  Cash, check, credit card (Visa or MC), cashier's check, or money order made payable to Tulsa Tech are accepted.

A minimum score of 50 points is required for acceptance into each program.  Applicants meeting this minimum score are accepted, beginning with the highest score until all available spaces are filled.  Those applicants meeting the qualifications, yet not accepted into the class due to space limitations, will be put on a waiting list.  If any applicant feels he/she has been improperly denied admission, an appeals process is available.

Tulsa Tech campuses offer several meeting rooms with capacities between 26 and 60 people. Auditoriums are available to seat 285, 300, 500, or 600 people. The Riverside campus offers one classroom seating 20 people and a 20-workstation computer lab for public use.
