Welcome to Online Medical Terminology Core
This course introduces the student to the foundations of medical terminology including root words, suffixes, prefixes, word elements, and word terminals. Emphasis is placed on correct pronunciation and spelling. The student will use Medical Terminology to understand information in future health related courses.
Online courses are very different from the traditional classroom experience. But for those who enjoy working independently, or who have time, transportation or other constraints, these courses offer a practical way to complete education requirements. Many people have found
success with online courses .
Course Enrollment
Course Information
- Medical Terminology Core online content is the same as the classroom course.
- The cost is $205 for the 45 hour course.
- A book is required. Online access is bundled with the book.
- We are using Delmar's MedTermOnline to deliver the course. You can preview the course by taking the Guided Tour of the Ehrlich book.
Computer Requirements
- Access to a computer and the Internet are required.
- The computer must meet the minimum requirements and the browser must have the correct settings. Check your computer requirements with the FAQ at the MedTermOnline site.
Course Grading
- The course is self-paced so you can work when you have time.
- Courses must be completed between the first day of the term and the last day of the term.
- Courses must be completed by the end date to receive credit.
- There is an on-site orientation before the start of the course. Your instructor will notify you of the time and location for the orientation right before the course start date.
- Grading comes from the chapter tests, case studies and any other items assigned by the instructor. Tests must be proctored and taken at Tulsa Tech’s Health Sciences building. (dates & times will be scheduled with each student).
