Southwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Funding

Purpose

This technical assistance program is funded by the Economic Development Administration, U. S. Department of Commerce through the Southwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (SWTAAC). This funding assists U.S. manufacturing firms hurt by import competition to regain profitable growth. SWTAAC helps its clients document their technical needs then plan, implement and pay for the highest quality technical assistance available.

Tulsa Tech helps manufacturing firms in the Tulsa area receive this funding where imports of directly competitive products have contributed to a decline in their sales or production and a decline or impending decline in their employment levels. SWTAAC provides a matching grant of up to $150,000 in financial assistance to offset the cost of projects that strengthen operations and sharpen competitiveness for manufacturers in many industries. This customized business assistance can be used for a variety of projects, including marketing, information technology, manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance.
