Purpose
Tulsa Tech implemented the Local Training for Existing Industry Program to assist local businesses and manufacturers remain competitive
during these difficult economic times. Funding to offset direct instructional costs associated with training activities for
customized training for companies that must re-tool and /or retrain to remain competitive and retain jobs has been made available
for use by business and industries in Tulsa County.
We believe Oklahoma 's and Tulsa County 's economic future will
largely depend on the ability of Tulsa Tech to provide training for existing business and industry enabling them
to grow in the marketplace. Frequently this will require providing the existing workforce with upgrade training or training on
new systems or equipment. Tulsa Tech's mission is to respond to these needs by designing customized industry training programs.
The Training for Existing Industry Program funds allow Tulsa Technology Center to establish more partnerships with business and industry to assist in economic growth. This funding source has been established only for a short time period and may not be available in the years ahead. In Tulsa , our Business and Career Development (BCD) Department has experienced increasing requests for TEIP training by businesses ranging from aerospace to food production to machining. Last fiscal year, BCD delivered over 50,000 training hours to 12,000 of your employees through the Training for Existing Industry Training Program.
