Training for Industry Program (TIP)
What is TIP?
Established in 1968 as an economic development tool, Oklahoma 's
Training for Industry Program (TIP) has been providing customized
training at no cost to the company, for industry that is new to the
state or expanding its operations within the state. Tulsa Tech
delivers customized training and services through the TIP program
which has earned an international reputation by assisting more than
1,000 companies in training their start-up or expanding workforces .
Tulsa Techn is committed to helping your employees gain the
skills necessary to enable you to compete in today's global market and
to maintain that competitive advantage.
How does TIP work?
When your company decides to expand or locate in the Tulsa area, work begins
immediately with Tulsa Tech's Business and Industry Training Services to design
a customized training program. One of our Industrial Coordinators will meet with
representatives from your company to assess the competencies needed in each job
category and to design the training program accordingly. A Statement of
Understanding will be developed that outlines the responsibilities, areas and
length of training, number of employees to be trained, and any special
requirements. Each TIP training project provides funding for instructors (ours
or yours), materials, curriculum, curriculum development, supplies, and
facilities at no cost to your company. There is no lengthy application process,
just quality training delivered to you when you need it!
